To guarantee consumers of an absolute Halal authentification, ISLA DELICE is controlled by the independent body AVS. This association, governed by the law of 1901, is dedicated to guaranteeing respect for Muslim rites in the field of the Meat and of Cooked meats.

The specificity of the AVS control procedure consists in setting up persons who, permanently, observe and authenticate the Halal conformity of each production, in every stage of the manufacturing, from the slaughtering to the packaging of the finished product. Its specifications are moreover recognised as being the most rigorous. The AVS controllers are also the only ones to retain the labels of Halal authentification, which they themselves affix to the finished products.

ISLA DELICE has more than twenty controllers who are permanently present exclusively to monitor each of the productions.

A Votre Service “Strict control of Halal meat”

AVS is an association created in 1991 in accordance with the law of 1901. Its objective is to control the Halal meat manufacturing process. To achieve this, AVS presently employ 80 employees at various slaughterhouses in France and Europe. Furthermore, AVS control more than 70 butcher's shops in the Paris region free of charge.
So that the effectiveness of the control is assured, the association is managed by a rigourous board of directors. To guarantee Halal standards is a heavy responsibility which the people in charge of AVS assume with all the necessary means at their disposal.
However, the task is delicate and requires a daily presence on all the sites where the meat is transit. Indeed, our controllers are present every day in slaughterhouses, processing plants, butcher's shops and restaurants in order to guarantee Halal standards. But this does not happen without its difficulties.
We prove this every day when, in spite of all the requirements and the scrupulous control which we apply, we are sometimes obliged to seize meats in the controlled butcher's shops because they are not authenticated. To eat Halal meat does only confer responsibility upon the one who sells it, but also upon the one who buys it.
« Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds » (Kuran 74 :38)

Islam calls upon the empowerment of the individual. Each of us is appreciative of our acts before God.
Assuring the customers that the goods are Halal without having absolute certainty is a heavy responsibility.
The separation of meats in slaughterhouses is so complex (several stages and several places where the meat is cut) that the sacrificer cannot be at the sacrifice and present at the cutting simultaneously.
Only permanent and constant control guarantees the traceability of the Halal to reduce the risks. What is indispensable is a system whereby the marking of the meat identifies the Halal character of each part of the meat.
To mark the various parts of the carcass is fundamental to avoid the risk of it being mixed with non-Halal meats.
So that the butcher can assume his responsibility, he needs partners who can control his suppliers and his butcher's shop (free of charge for him so that there is no relation with money). This way he can assure his clientele that his goods are Halal.
The control results in a traceability which guarantees the Halal character of the goods by the testimony of Muslims conscious of their roles before God, in the service of the people.
